John Kelly - Musician

John Kelly is a warm, funny, passionate musician with over 30 years’ live experience. He is a lover and a (non-violent) fighter for equality, inclusion and human rights. His songwriting sits alongside that of his heroes and peers; containing all the compassion and conviction of Woody Guthrie, the fiery passion of Billy Bragg and the imaginative storytelling of Ian Dury and The Blockheads. John has worked with technologists and luthiers to design and build his bespoke guitar, the Kellycaster. He is also the Future Leaders Development Manager at Drake Music.

Sally Currie - Interim CEO, Drake Music

Sally Currie is the Interim CEO at Drake Music and is based in Kingston-Upon-Hull. As a qualified accountant, she spent many years working in finance and business management for arts organisations such as Freedom Festival Arts Trust, Jazz North, The New Adelphi Club CIC and The Old Market. Sally was born partially deaf and is also a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. She is passionate about developing the infrastructure and technologies to ensure that Disabled musicians and Non-Disabled musicians can work together as equals.

Tim Yates - Research & Innovation Executive, Drake Music

Tim is Research and Innovation Executive at Drake Music, responsible for accessible music technology and instrument development. He is committed to breaking down the barriers to music making faced by Disabled musicians by ensuring that everyone has access to the instruments and technology they need. He is also undertaking a PhD in immersive, interactive sound art-installations using spatial audio at the University of Greenwich. He is a musician, sound-artist, and technologist, and co-founder and co-organiser of Hackoustic.
