Donnacadh O'Briain Olivier Award-winning Director, Experience Designer & Story Architect

Donnacadh is a multi-award winning Creative Director, Experience Designer and Story Architect specialising in live theatre, immersive experiences and experiential learning.
In his first career as a stage director, he won multiple award including an Olivier Award for his production of the groundbreaking play Rotterdam (Arts Theatre London, 59E59 New York), an Offie Award for his production of the musical Operation Mincemeat (Southwark Playhouse/Riverside Studios London), and multiple awards for gig-theatre sensation Electrolyte (Edinburgh Festival). As an Assistant and Associate Director he worked on major productions, including Complicite's Endgame (West End), Mischief's Peter Pan Goes Wrong & A Comedy About a Bank Robbery (West End) the multi award-winning Histories Cycle (RSC/Roundhouse), which was named The Guardian Newspaper’s ‘Production of the Decade’).
In recent years Donnacadh has pivoted to working on immersive theatrical experiences. This work has encompassed public focused work with major IP's in the intersection between Immersive Theatre and the Attractions industry, as well as original learning experiences created bespoke for corporate clients within the broad area of Learning & Development.
He has delivered occasional talks and keynotes throughout his career, most recently for a talk on 'Enthusiasm' for global clothing brand C&A. He has taught and mentored at major UK Universities and drama schools, including RADA, LAMDA, SAID Business School and Cambridge University, and spent a year as Associate Fellow of Creativity at Warwick University.
Donnacadh is a member of the WXO World Experience Council, working alongside global leaders from the Experience Economy, including Joe Pine, who coined the term(!)
