Beks Leary

Senior Content Manager, National Gallery

Beks Leary is an award-winning social media and digital specialist with a track record of implementing exciting and transformational brand content strategies for digital engagement, especially with younger audiences.

Currently, at the National Gallery, Beks leads a team of 11 digital professionals across video production, social media management, content production, research, and online events management. They produce content for both digital engagement and in-Gallery interpretation, and are responsible for a social media audience of 5m.

For the National Theatre, Beks led the digital content strategy across digital, social, and marketing teams. The team grew a total audience of 2.7m from a starting point of 1.1m across YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok for the 'world's greatest theatre' and built engagement from 20m to 528m impressions per month. Beks launched the theatre's first ever streaming service, National Theatre at Home, first for free during lockdown tripling the number of YouTube subscribers, and then as a SVOD paid model with Vimeo.

At BBC One, Beks managed industry-renowned campaigns for Line of Duty S5, Gentleman Jack, Dynasties, the BAFTAs, The Cry and Les Misérables, among many others. She started and community managed the largest BBC Facebook Group for Line of Duty, which remains heralded by Facebook as their exemplar brand fan group. And she won two Lovie Awards.
