A climate emergency has been declared by 1,400 local governments in 28 countries. How can the cultural sector play a role in mitigating climate change both in terms of being more sustainable ourselves and helping others to become so? How can creatives help shape the public discourse in this area, and consider some of the direct ethical implications? More widely, what are the key ethical considerations for creative organisations and practitioners? How do we balance an important social and educational role with the need to generate income? What lessons can models from other fields including social enterprise and community work provide for creative, purpose-driven enterprises?
