Dr Denis Newman-Griffis Principal Investigator, Framing Responsible AI Implementation and Management (FRAIM)
Denis Newman-Griffis (they/them) is a transdisciplinary researcher studying the policy, process and practice of responsible AI. A Senior Lecturer of Computer Science and Theme Lead for AI-Enabled Research at the University of Sheffield Centre for Machine Intelligence, Denis has led award-winning projects developing shared understanding and best practices for the responsible use of AI technologies in complex organisations, from local government to national libraries and international research councils. Their work also investigates the interactions between AI and disability in health and welfare systems, producing technological and critical reflections on centring human experience in the design and use of AI. Denis is a British Academy Innovation Fellow and a frequent international speaker on responsible AI in science, public services, and health.
