Anna Reece Artistic Director, Perth Festival

Anna Reece is Artistic Director of Perth Festival. A creative producer, programmer and CEO, she brings two decades of national and international experience shaped within the context of major multi-arts festivals. She is recognised for her ability to imagine and deliver large-scale cultural projects that energise cities, support artists, and connect communities.
Anna returned home to Western Australia to produce The Giants for Perth Festival in 2015 - an epic public spectacle that drew an audience of 1.4 million people and transformed perceptions of what art could mean for Perth. She went on to serve as Executive Producer of Perth Festival, supporting previous Artistic Directors to bring their bold visions to life, including unforgettable large-scale works such as Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak and Highway to Hell.
Anna later led Fremantle Arts Centre, establishing a new strategic and artistic direction that strengthened its profile as one of Western Australia’s leading multi-arts organisations. As Co-CEO of Darwin Festival, she was instrumental in developing the iconic Lighthouse venue and Festival Park - transformations that redefined the city’s cultural heart each dry season.
Her career has been marked by a commitment to championing artists, fostering cultural exchange, and reimagining how festivals and cultural institutions can shape civic identity. With a deep belief in the power of the arts to inspire ambition and belonging, Anna continues to place community, creativity and internationalism at the core of her leadership.
