In 2023, REMIX Summits published the Immersive Revolution, a research project supported by the British Council. With 40,000 views to date, it has proven to be more influential than we could have imagined.

It became a widely circulated and influential analysis of global immersive entertainment trends. It also charted the role of London and the UK more broadly as a pioneer in the development of the global immersive entertainment industry and its emergence as one of a number of globally significant immersive cluster cities. Since its publication, the sector has continued its dynamic growth with new data suggesting it continues to grow at a rapid pace and will continue to do so into the future.

Much has changed even in the short period since the last report, so I felt it was time to take stock. This update provides a snapshot of what has happened since, tracking the developments with some of the key players in the sector as well as exploring the latest trends that are shaping the future of immersive entertainment from immersive technologies to shifting audience demands. We also investigate some of the commercial models that underpin this growth as well as the infrastructure and investment (both public and private) supporting the development of the sector. This includes a further deep dive into key ecosystems and hubs such as the UK which was also a focus of the original report through our partnership with the UK government (through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office).
