Angie works across culture, research, strategy and technology, informed by our old ways. Her peer-reviewed, journal published research on Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence created the foundations for the social enterprise, Old Ways, New. As a team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous consultants and technologists, Old Ways, New develops the cultural capacity of non-Indigenous organisations; develops integrated service design solutions, and produce research and development for deep technologies, based upon Indigenous Traditional Knowledges. Angie’s work within the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is focused on future technologies and human rights policy. She is also a Studio Lead teaching Futuring Studies in the Interdisciplinary Lab for Human Technology Relations at the University of Technology Sydney and a Fellow of The Ethics Centre. Previously, Angie was the Director of the Indigenous Digital Excellence (IDX) initiative as part of the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence and prior, was known as an acclaimed film Director for her immersive film and cross-disciplinary arts works. Angie continues to utilise culture and the craft of storytelling as the central component of all her work.
