Over the last 3-years the REMIX team has been engaged by State Library Victoria to develop a vision and strategy for StartSpace; a new hub to support early-stage entrepreneurs.

This came to fruition with the recent launch of StartSpace as part of the re-opening of State Library Victoria after an $88 million transformation process.

StartSpace was made possible through a $2 million donation from Christine Christian who wanted to support the next generation of entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality.

StartSpace is free to use and there is space for 125 members at any one time. There will also be an extensive program of free events to help anyone who has a concept for a business (be it a social enterprise, creative enterprise or anything else) but does not know where to start (or simply wants professional development in this area).

As businesses grow and develop they can access another facility, the ‘StartSpace Loft’, a low-cost co-working space which alongside desk space provides other benefits such as kitchen, lounge, boardroom and Skype booths for private communication.

You can read a bit more about StartSpace in this piece by the Sydney Morning Herald. If you want to sign-up to access the space then just head over to the StartSpace website.
