Jarrad joined Wētā FX at the beginning of 2022 and is the Director for Special Projects.

The Special Projects department is a unique entity within the greater company, exploring real-time technologies, with a focus on innovation in film and audience experiences. Jarrad drives efforts from a business, operations, and talent point of view. 

The Special Projects team were honoured when their most recent project, ‘WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John and Yoko’, was recognised with the 2024 Academy® Award for Best Animated Short. The short film, directed by Dave Mullins was Wētā FX's most ambitious foray into game engine animated content.

Originally from Perth, Australia, Jarrad worked as an Executive Producer in London at The Mill, before joining Wētā FX, where he focused on enhancing the company's capabilities in interactive and experiential work and led production on several award-winning projects
