Dr Martina Mrongovius

Art Producer, Lake Arts Precinct & Creative Director, Center for Holographic Arts (HoloCenter)

Dr Martina Mrongovius works with holographic design to create artworks and experiences where narrative is entangled, and space becomes dynamic. As the first Art Producer for the Lake Arts Precinct, Awabakal Country (Lake Macquarie), Martina seeks ways to engage creative expression with community and Country.
Using optical montage techniques Martina creates art hologram installations with solo exhibitions in Berlin, Seoul, Melbourne, Cologne, Ghent and New York. She has participated in multiple group shows and has collectively designed participatory art experiences across cities and waterways. Exploring emergence in the encounter with holographic images Martina was awarded a PhD with the Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory at RMIT University.

Martina severed as the Creative Director of the Center for the Holographic Arts (HoloCenter) based in New York for 11 years and has held academic positions including with Academy of Media Arts Cologne, Germany and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, USA.
