Daniel Garcia Educator, NGV (National Gallery of Victoria)
Daniel Garcia started out life as a 3D animator and game designer, moved on to Freelance Graphic and Toy Design in Asia, headed back home to teach in Secondary and Primary Schools, did a stint in the AFL working on a wellbeing education and gaming platform. He now works as an Educator at the NGV where part of his role is looking at how we can use digital technology with students to engage and interact with artworks.
Daniel works on the NGV Digital Creatives program that enable students to use digital technologies to explore, interpret, create and share works of art. Works from the NGV Collection provide an inspiring and unique starting point for engaging learning programs that support the integration of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and the visual arts provide an authentic context for developing problem solving, critical and creative thinking skills.
