Welcoming REMIX London to the Museum of London, its director Sharon Ament introduces some of the strategies and processes currently underway at the museum as it embarks on its £200 million relocation to Smithfield. Sharon will explore how to root the museum within the city communities it serves, managing internal innovation whilst designing the new museum services and visitor experience, and the new Culture Mile initiative, involving aggregated working between a group of institutions.

Sharon joined the Museum of London as Director in September 2012. She was previously Director of Public Engagement at the Natural History Museum and had a wide remit that encompassed all business and visitor facing elements. She was responsible for building income, visitor numbers and engagement internationally.
Sharon sits on the International Panel of the Art Science Museum in Singapore. She is a Noyce Leadership Fellow and Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow and is also former chair of the Exhibition Road Cultural Group, which represents 17 major cultural organisations, and Vice-President of Ecsite (the European Network for Science Centres and Museums). Until recently Sharon was a trustee of the Wildscreen Trust and the International Wildlife Film Festival.
