Sean Henriques

Director, Campus Environments - led the University of the Future Program that delivered the new $853m ECU City Campus

Sean Henriques is a professionally qualified senior executive with extensive experience across transformational projects in commercial, government and not-for-profit sectors.

As Edith Cowan University’s (ECU) Director, Campus Environments, Sean leads the strategic planning and operations of the University’s built environments to create vibrant, sustainable and future-focused campuses for teaching, learning, research and community connection.

Sean is also steering the delivery of the landmark ECU City Campus as a jointly funded project with the Australian Government and Western Australian Government under the Perth City Deal. Opening in February 2026, the $853 million project is set to redefine higher education in Western Australia as Perth’s first fully comprehensive inner city university campus. The world-class creative industries, business and technology campus will bring activation and vibrancy through its unique creative programming and a community of more than 10,000 students and staff.

Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer at the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority and Executive General Manager at DevelopmentWA, where he led the successful delivery of major urban regeneration projects across Perth including Elizabeth Quay, Perth City Link, Yagan Square and the Scarborough Foreshore, as well as significant redevelopment activities in Midland, Armadale, East Perth and Subiaco.

A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Sean also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) from Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
