Richard Slaney

CEO, Lightroom (immersive experience with collaborators inc. David Hockney & Tom Hanks)

Richard Slaney is the CEO of Lightroom, a new home for spectacular artist-led shows which launched in February 2023 in King’s Cross, London, with Bigger & Closer (not smaller & further away), a collaboration with David Hockney. Lightroom invites the world’s leading creative minds to use its vast space and revolutionary technology to create something completely new. Richard is the former CEO of Lightroom’s joint venture partner 59 Productions, where he led projects as a Director including collaborations with the Smithsonian, BBC Proms, Barbican Centre and Edinburgh International Festival. Richard’s work has often drawn on his background in classical music, and his interest in using technology to allow audiences new perspectives on music making. Before joining 59 Productions, Richard was the Head of Digital for the Philharmonia Orchestra (London) establishing and leading the Orchestra’s critically acclaimed Digital Department, creating innovative exhibitions, films, live performances and apps.
