Netia Jones is Associate Director of The Royal Opera in London and the director of Lightmap, a creative studio working worldwide. In 2026 she will curate a new annual festival exploring opera and technology at the Royal Opera House, RBO/SHIFT, launching with a focus on AI.

As an award-winning director, designer and video artist Netia has created productions for Opéra national de Paris, English National Opera, Lincoln Center New York, Santa Fe Opera, Gothenburg Opera, New Zealand Opera, Perth Festival, National Theatre of Taiwan, Shanghai Grand Theatre, Bergen International Festival and London Barbican. She has created multimedia installations, projection mapping and digital performances for Wien Modern Festival, Elbphilharmonie, Philharmonie de Paris, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and Aldeburgh Festival as well as directing the acclaimed VR opera Current Rising, for the Royal Opera.
