Mary Darwell leads Arts NSW in its activities to support a vibrant arts and cultural life in NSW.
Arts NSW is a NSW Government agency that creates more opportunities for more people to shape and experience excellent arts and culture in NSW.Arts NSW works to achieve this by directly investing in artists, organisations and arts professionals, by developing creative spaces and places, and by leading and implementing strategies that bolster the sector’s success.Mary brings 20 years’ experience to her current role and previously held roles as Executive Director, Economic Development Division in the NSW Cabinet Office; Director, Structural Reform, NSW Health; and Manager, Group Environment with energy company AGL. Mary held legal positions with Mallesons Stephen Jaques and the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.Mary is currently Chair of the NSW Cultural Institutions forum, Minister’s alternative on the Sydney Festival Board and previous Board member of Carriageworks, Sydney Film Festival and Museums and Galleries NSW.
