Love Ssega Musician & Artist

Love Ssega is a musician, producer and artist whose work blurs the lines of artist, audience, participant and collaborator. His community-focussed air pollution project LIVE + BREATHE led to a free Clean Air Day multi-activity event for Lambeth and Southwark residents. Love Ssega’s NESTA, National Gallery X(National Gallery & King’s College London) commission HOME-Zero involved a workshop on sustainable social housing and promenade performance on Earth Day2022, which featured an all-Black cast of poets and dancers taking over three of the National Gallery’s largest rooms. He has worked with Southbank Centre’s Philharmonia Orchestra, performed on Glastonbury’s Other Stage, recorded with rural musicians in south-west China as British Council & PRS Foundation Musician in Residence, China and been commissioned for a site-specific performance piece for Theaster Gates’ Serpentine Pavillion. Love Ssega’s climate-focussed visual work was recently on display at MoMA PS1, NYC as part of Slow Factory’s debut Homeroom exhibition. Love Ssega is The Arts Foundation Music For Change Fellow 2022 and a Trustee of Brian Eno-led environmental charity Earth Percent.
