Louise Cantillon began her role as British Consul General Sydney and Deputy Trade Commissioner, Asia Pacific for Australia and New Zealand in April 2021.
She leads the Department for International Trade’s work across Australia and New Zealand.

Between January 2018 to March 2021, Louise was based in China working for the
Department for International Trade. Her most recent role was as a Sector Director and Minister Counsellor, Creative, Consumer and Learning Industries for the Department of International Trade based in Shanghai, China.

Before that she was Head of Major Projects at the British Council where she worked across Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan,
and Malaysia.

Louise has had a squiggly career and is a Chartered Surveyor by background and has had first-hand experience as a UK exporter and investor.
