Leigh Carmichael

Creative Director, Dark Mofo, MONA's winter festival

Leigh Carmichael is the Creative Director of Dark Mofo, MONA’s winter festival, a graphic designer and passionate Tasmanian. After working as a designer for companies including Crank Media, G3 and Roar Film, he was working as a freelancer when he was contracted to design the labels for Moorilla's signature beer line, Moo Brew and Moorilla’s Muse wine range. He has been attached to Moorilla and MONA ever since, being part of the team responsible for the first MONA FOMA. The inaugural Dark Mofo festival, a program of music, art, interactive performances and film, took place in Hobart in June 2013. See www.darkmofo.net.au. He is also currently project manager for a new Cultural and Creative Industry hub in Hobart CBD. The project is being developed on the site of the former Mercury newspaper building, for Detached Cultural Organisation.
