John Kirkman Exec. Director, Mouna Zaylah, Head of Cultural Development, Information & Cultural Exchange, Parramatta

John Kirkman is Executive Director Information & Cultural Exchange (ICE), a Western Sydney community arts organisation working in the areas of cultural development, screen culture and digital technology and related education/training programs. Prior to joining ICE John was Chief Executive Officer Penrith Performing & Visual Arts (2005-2012), Director of the Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest (2001-2005), Curator/Manager djamu Gallery Australian Museum at Customs House (1998-2000) and was inaugural Director, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (1992-98). 

 

John Kirkman has worked extensively as curator and project manager for a range of exhibitions, performance programs and major public art commissions, and has also developed a range of international cultural exchange programs (with particular focus on Japan and India). He was a member of the NSW Premier’s Arts Advisory Council (2003-2006).
