Chloe Appleby is a dynamic, award-winning games curator and community advocate working at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney and is the Board Chair for Freeplay. Awarded the 2024 Rising Star at the Australian Game Developer Awards, her notable curatorial projects include the inaugural Powerhouse ALT: GAMES festival, Powerhouse Late x Gaming series and the Good Design award winning exhibition Pride at Play. Appleby explores the multifaceted layers of games, delving into themes of identity, representation, and cultural heritage. Drawing on her extensive expertise, she invites audiences to explore the vast potential of museums as inclusive spaces that embrace diverse experiences and narratives. Appleby is currently leading the development and implementation of a game strategy for the Powerhouse Museum to embed games as a cultural medium.
