Andrew Pogson Special Projects Manager, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
Andrew Pogson is the Special Projects Manager at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He is responsible for programming and producing the orchestra’s “Specials” and “Pops” series (non-classical concerts) along with managing its various commercial recordings. Previous projects have included shows with artists like Sting, Randy Newman, Chris Botti, DJ Jeff Mills, Human Nature, Nick Cave and Kurt Elling along with movie projects like Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Back to the Future, West Side Story and Fantasia. Andrew has also been responsible as producer and director for many world premieres with the MSO such as The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular, Video Games Unplugged, The Wiggles meet the MSO and This Gaming Life with music comedy trio Tripod.
Andrew has a passion for new concert presentations and introducing new (and young!) audiences to the orchestra. He has a strong belief that orchestral music has never been more relevant to modern life, with symphonic music scores appearing in endless movies, TV and video games.
