mima Retail Strategy

The Middlesborough Institute of Modern Art opened in 2007 as a centre of excellence for modern and contemporary art. Following on from a broader assignment to identify new opportunities for commercial income streams, mima commissioned REMIX Agency to develop a new retail strategy and operational plan.

REMIX Agency created a range of retail concepts for mima to consider, detailing their impact on instore and online requirements plus product ranges. Once a preferred route was selected, REMIX Agency then created detailed range plans for the gallery, introducing a range of suppliers and outlining promotional strategies.

With a strategically selected product range, in-store and online retail environments can provide a major source of revenue for organisations. We look for ‘products with soul’ – ones with stories that live up to the brand of the organisation. Also worth considering are multiple sales channels and their impact on range and price point.
