Houses of Parliament Commercial Strategy

As an iconic UNESCO world heritage site, the Houses of Parliament approached REMIX Agency to help identify additional revenue sources to contribute towards the cost of maintenance. Equally, the project aimed to increase public access to the heart of democracy whilst needing to respect (and indeed enhance) the integrity of its work.

REMIX Agency was commissioned to develop a commercial strategy, recommending options for potential commercial revenue generation across seven areas including retail, private investment, visitor services, catering, conferencing and filming.[br][br]On catering, we worked closely with  Tricon, global catering specialists who we have collaborated with on numerous occasions.

The project was reported extensively in the national media due to its high profile, including a front page story in the Sunday Times. The opposite of ‘disneyfication’, a good strategy should celebrate the special integrity of an institution and widen access, whilst identifying opportunities to generate revenue in a way that actually enhances the experience.
