Governor's Island // Come see for yourself New York City’s newest 30 acres of park on Governors Island. Take an exclusive, behind the scenes tour with Trust for Governors Island President Leslie Koch, learn about the design of the extraordinary new public spaces and hear the inside story of how this Island has become New York City’s shared space for art and play. You will be added to the ferry list so you can bypass the ferry fare. Leslie will greet you on the Island side when you disembark the 3 PM ferry around 3:07.
Kickstarter HQ // Kickstarter helps artists and audiences come together to bring new ideas to life. Join Kendel Ratley, Kickstarter’s Director of Partnerships, for a site visit to Kickstarter’s headquarters in burgeoning Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We’ll tour the former pencil factory and conclude with a presentation and dialogue about Kickstarter’s role in building a better world through creativity. Begins promptly at 2pm.
Queens Museum & Maker Faire Behind-the-Scenes Tour // Beginning at the iconic Queens Museum, get a welcoming tour from the Education Department and its Director, Jason Yoon showcasing its education programs, learn about their latest exhibit "Bringing the World into the World" and the not to be missed Panorama of the city of New York. The CFO of Maker Faire will then join you for a brief talk before you are chaperoned over to the neighboring New York Hall of Science where a rep for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Maker Faire. Meeting Point: 7 train Willets Point Subway Station at 1:30 pm.
